Is it bad form to go and look for other units while being considered by one already? Some people say it is, but others are have said that joining the CF is like any other job -- you look around and see what you like.

Even as you undergo the recruiting process you begin to learn not only about the opportunities in the unit you‘ve spoken to, but the others in your area. If you think you‘re a better personality/capability match for a different trade than you originally thought, there is nothing wrong with changing your mind after you have more and better information on which to make a decision. Better you end up in a unit where you‘ll be happy and serve for many years, than in a mismatched trade/unit where you may leave after a short period. Unit loyalty is one thing, but let common sense prevail.
