In my time I've served in various areas of the world with persons of various backgrounds. From Christians, to Jews, to Muslims, to Buddhists, to Hindus.
We various people have (usually) had a common goal in mind - to reign in the bad guys and let people of good will live their lives in peace and prosperity. Sometimes we won, occasionally we lost. God forgive us our failures, God bless our successes.
For all of you, especially those still serving, thank you for your sacrifices, you have joined the pantheon of heroes the world has begat.
