There really isn't a lot of option here. You go and do what you're told, or you don't. If you've taken this to your CoC and they don't agree with your point of view, you can ignore them and take your chance at trial.
Perhaps a call to your new career manager will help you crystalize your course of action.
Bottom line is, you have your answer, moaning here won't help. Moral support from a Reserve siggy saying you don't have 'to suck it up' against the advice of senior people may not be the way you want to frame your defence.
Either way there is no reason for this to carry on. The options have been stated. Choose as you will.
