The Poles hate Russia. They have a long memory and history that is has been passed down for generations.

If they were surprised the Ukranians didn't welcome them with open arms and borscht 24 Feb 2022, they'd be in a treat if they breathe wrong at Poland...

so we increased our deficit by 20%+ of the cost of Putin's war. Really isn't something to brag about. But Putin's war is on the cheap, how much has the EU and NATO thrown into the pot for Ukraine
 
But also the article is not about deficits.
Canada’s GDP grew during 2022 when Russia’s GDP took that $81B to $104B shrinking.

A lot. The US is the biggest contributor of military aid but EU institutions have made major financial contributions to Ukraine over and above the military and financial assistance from member states.
