Rappel master course/qualifications

Hey all, just curious, what are the qualifications required to go on a rappel master course as a reservist? is it even possible?

I have recently taken my RM course and we had both regular force and primary reserve on course with us.

PLQ is a rerequisite for the course.

I know at least one rappel master who's not PLQ qualified, so it may not be a general requisite.

As per the Training Plan dated 16 May 03, the prerequisites for Rappel Master (AGMJ) are:
1.  Cpl PLQ qualified;
2.  Completed Rappel training (i.e. you must have completed military rappels previously);
3.  Current medical; and
4.  Current PT test.

There are no differences in the prerequisites for Reg Force or PRes.

Just a Sig Op, having a leadership course (CLC, JLC, whatever) has always been a prerequisite for the Rappel Master course, therefore your friend slipped through the cracks somehow.  IMO he/she should not be dispatching troops because, besides from questioning the validity of his/her qualification, there are also liability issues.
