Hey Everyone ,

I'll start off with a bit of my personal story to help better understand my question. I'm 32 years old, I have been working in food production shipping and logistics for 15 years. I am currently an Inventory manager and Shipping supervisor. I have no higher education , but tons of experience. I have always had the intentions to join the forces but never followed through because I wasn't willing to take a step back financially. Long story short , I am very interested in joining the forces , I don't see my age as an issue but I do have a few questions that would help me decide an entry plan and a career path.

Ill give you guys an idea of what my intentions are ...

I only have an a high school equivalency. I would like to become an officer but I don't know how that is possible without a bachelors in any particular field.

My biggest question is the following.

Can I join as a NCM in the supply tech field. And work my way through University part time towards a bachelors in my field and than be commissioned to officer ?

All this being paid by the forces?

Is there a better path ? is there an restrictions I am not seeing ?

I am currently working a job making 75k a year but would be willing to take a step back for a better more fulfilling future. I want to gain the education I never got while raising my profile within the military and gain better oppurtunities for me and my fiancee.

Please anyone help give me some advice through personal knowledge or experience. My local recruiters are not very helpful.

Thanks guys !
Great links and very helpful info !

You are welcome. Good luck.  :)

Building on one of the links that was very helpful

UTPNCM seems like the exact opportunity I have been looking for, it's amazing how our military has different opportunities for many different situations.

Reminding you all that I only have a high school equivalency.

What do I have to do to be considered for such an opportunity?

Is it wise to enter the forces as a supply tech with minimal education but tons of experience .

What is my best path? Should I gain a higher education to gain an advantage over the competition?
