I was lucky enough to be on one of the last run Advanced Pioneer Courses run in the Infantry School back in 2000. I recently CFR'd and wish to submit a PLAR to be exempt the upcoming Engineering Officer Phase 3 (BEOC DP 1.1). I reviewed the BEOC DP 1.1 Training Plan and it's almost an exact match to the Advanced Pioneer Course. My dilemma is trying to track down a Training Plan from a course that isn't offered anymore to match up PO's. Can anyone point me in the right direction or better yet is there any former instructors on this forum that might still have something kicking about.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Do you have a copy of your Course Report listing all the POs you covered and your marks?  That would be a start.

What's wrong with a little refresher, besides when was the last time you did any demolitions?

And who doesn't like watching stuff explode?

Well that depends.... I get 4 months of  "groundhog day" every 3 weeks when I am at the school... lol

Thanks for the quick responses. I have the course report but I need the PO's broken down into more detail. Who really wants to spend 2 1/2 months of the Summer on course especially if you're repeating training you've already done?

Again I ask when was the last time you did explosive training and what is covered on Phase 3 is more than blowing stuff up, there is lots of orders and planning, engineer recce's, bridging,etc..... those items would not have been covered on the Pioneer Course (I believe)

I'll have a better look at what is on the BEOC 1.1 course tomorrow.......

Hi NFLD Sapper...I dug out all my paperwork and yes lots of orders, recce's, bridging gaps, etc.... We walk away with Demolition Instructor and Landmine Warfare Instructor qualifications as I'm sure you already know. I have a copy of the BEOC 1.1 TP and already compared Mods 2 to 5...all good. It's Mod 1 that I'd really like the Advanced Pioneer TP to compare to for a couple things. I appreciate your help and concern.

Why waste time and money if he doesn't need it?  Worst case they review his PLAR and send him on the course.  Best case he gets it, frees up a spot for someone else and continues on.

Sylverr I sent a quick email to an advanced pioneer bud of mine to see if he has any legacy TP stuff.  I know he is on leave right now so I don't hold out much hope for quick reply but you never know.

Thanks MJP!
You know exactly where I'm coming from...after 16 years in the Infantry as an RCR (3 as a Paratrooper), last 6 as a Firefighter and now CFR to Construction Engineering Officer - Fire Protection Specialist...it would be nice to find out that some Infantry skills might actually still count for something.

Cheers!

Mods 1-4 are the same for BEOC/CEOC, it's Mod 5 that is different.

You'll be doing Airfield Damage Repair, the Army guys will be doing their Demolitions. What a smoke eater will do with that is not for me to say  ;D.

The final say is up to LFDTS on any PLAR, with a recommendation from the school. Certainly can't hurt to ask.

Thanks Wook.
That's the first I've heard about the difference in Mod 5. I'm getting some great info and support on this forum. I should have signed up for this years ago...lol.

Thank you to everyone who helped me out...especially Technoviking who came through with everything I needed. This forum is indeed an asset for Military Pers and those wishing to join.
