Oops ... sorry folks ... posted this prematurely ... now editing ...
I work at McLaughlin Library and have always been fascinated with the life of "Colonel Sam" who donated to the University of Guelph the funds to build our library in 1968. He lived to be 101 years old, was associated with Camp X, and was said to be "the longest serving Colonel in the Canadian military." We have decided to host an event to remember, honour and commemorate this wonderful man. If anyone here can supply any details about his military career, it would be most appreciated.
