Im surprised that this news article about former CF General Baril hasnt been discussed on this forum. He left his position (read 'resigned' or 'quit' depending on your source) as chairman of CATSA after a 'scathing' airport security audit. The following link still has the article which originally came out over 26/27 Jan, but its gone from most news sites already.

The report involved claimed to find problems with air security, but Auditor General Fraser says our civilian aircraft are still 'safe and secure'. Baril has been replaced temporarily at CATSA by Margaret Purdy (her bio can be seen at this link ---> http://www.collectionscanada.ca/information-management/001/007001-2010-e.html).
