"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

Outlining what ages things must occur at is meaningless. The qualifications must be met and the CF doesn't really care what age people are. 1) Finish highschool 2a) Private Uni/Military Uni/Direct entry 2b) If private uni was selected in step 2a, apply to military. 3) Go with the flow. Things...

Stupidiot tries to cash $360 billion forged cheque

I think the answer to this is in the final tally. Each man paid 10 dollars, therefore 30 dollars in total is given to the manager and is the sole input of money into the system, which will be the number we need in the final tally. The manager gives 5 dollars to the bellhop, making the total...

Stupidiot tries to cash $360 billion forged cheque

Think of how stupid the average person is... Now think about how half the people in the world are dumber than that!

Anyone have nay ideas on Pilot slots for 08/09?

Don't tell yourself that you're too old or that there is too much stress for your body. Tell that to Peter Besenyei. 51 years old, still one of the worlds greatest aerobatic pilots and probably the best ever after close to 30 years of hard flying.

All things LASIK surgery (aircrew/other -- merged)

I'm not able to verify this information, but this is what I found regarding the types of surgery accepted. http://www.cadet-world.com/cwforums/showthread.php?p=775034 "6. Acceptable refractive surgery procedures for serving CF pilots are as follows: Wavefront Guided (WFG) Photorefractive...

    Eyeball Tattoo

Yrys - He shouldn't see in odd colours, unless some of the ink got into the cornea or the vitreous humour of the eye. As for transplants, as far as I know we've yet to be able to reattach optical nerves. This guy is essentially a madman. Everywhere he goes from now on you know what question...

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

Pilots are officers first and pilots second, keep that in mind. I want to say that you could drop before you get your wings, but you'll want to confirm that. I do know you may be obligated to repay the forces for the training you received. Edit: small grammatical correction.

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

I agree with Bograt. Don't go in with a fighters only focus, don't dismiss helicopters or the multi off hand. If you search for some pilot related keywords on the forums there are some real gems of information. I'm not saying that fighters wouldn't be cool, but from the accounts of people who...

Is This Is Why LEO's Earn thier 'Jade'?

Nothing wrong with the name, although it may be indicative of their background considering the people who use it. As for the indiscriminate breeders. I think, in comparison, addicts and the like can produce fairly good babies. I have a cousin by adoption (who is now being fought over) who was...

TV series on CF-18 pilot training

http://www.discoverychannel.ca/reports/article.aspx?aid=687 I've been watching this one for a while now. The channel to be playing it doesn't say exactly when it will be aired. It was supposed to play in fall 2007, but I've found no record of it actually having been aired. I haven't found any...

    Windsor, being swarmed by "Refugees"

(EDIT: Shortened it quite a bit, less words, same content and with less of an edge) Simply put, we cannot afford to keep up everyone who comes knocking. Realistically I would like to see us put the burden of proof on these "refugees"/economic freeloaders before extending them any rights...

    good 22LR pistol

This isn't as written in stone as the government wants you to think. My father was lucky enough to be grandfathered in when these laws arrived and naturally I'm quite interested in the future of these guns. Though you cannot be sold a prohibited gun without a license, I've heard of a precedent...

    Designated Marksman

You can have as many .22 cal bullets in a magazine as you want; I even looked it up again in my old PAL book. I think that it also extends to any rim-fire bullet. Unless of course the law has changed on me.
