Don't go rushing out to buy everything all in one shot.  Bring cash to BMQ because one of the first few days there includes a trip to the CANEX (base store)  to buy everything that you're missing.  They even give you the shopping list as part of the "Welcome" package.  You we're your civvies...

Just so you know where I'm coming from, I graduated BMQ on June 16, 2005 and am currently taking POET at CFSCE, CFB Kingston. I scrubbed the bottoms of my boots with soap, water, and a brush.  (as we were told to do)  This makes them nice and black without being shiny.  Takes just a few minutes...

Yeah, got my first choice ATIS Tech in the beginning of March and my BMQ started on April 12.  Starting week 3 tomorrow.

Call your local recruiting centre, they'll be able to give you the most accurate information.

No, I'm gonna be a ATIS Tech in the regular force.  Are you reg infantry or res?  Starting BMQ on a Saturday would be strange for regs, unless you're course actually starts on the 19th which would be a Tuesday and your flight is on the 16th.  Call your recruiter and find out for sure.  My flight...

As far as I know, trades are not seperated during BMQ because basic training is the same for everybody anyway.  Yeah, provided all goes well, (and it will) my grad should be June 16 as well.  ttyl

Thanks again to everyone! I just can't say that I've had even 1 unpleasant experience with recruiting staff I have dealt with in Wpg.  The clerk in charge of my file always cheerfully responded to my pestering, ie. phoning every 2 weeks.  I also never had cross words with anyone as some people...
