    Combat Vehicle Crew Helmet

Well, these things are now in circulation. However, NDHQ in their infinite wisdom seem to have  only ordered two sizes from Garneau, Medium and Large. With all adjustment bands and straps fully loosened I'm a solid 2 inches from buckling the helmet up, so I refused to sign for one at the SQ. I...

Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) LdSH(RC)

Very neat, I'd like to find out if these are real as well.

Lord Strathcona's New Toys [Leopard 2A4M]

I have yet to be able to take a look inside, we guys in HQ Sqn were told to keep our paws off of them! I think a peek is an order after spending two full days clearing all the old crap out of the white whale. They still look nice and fresh, I love how the ECM antenna still have the bubblewrap...

    Armoured Soldier Open/Closed

You wish. Go Strathcona's and you will be a broom-pushing transport troop driver.  :salute: Even then, I just got transferred to recce squadron, and I have yet to see the inside of a tank. Choice of regiment does not guarantee position.

    Info on LdSH vs RCD

I'm biased in my choice of going LdSH(RC) being from the Edmonton area. Shacks Shacks are on the nicer side of military housing that I've seen. There's a fair number of single-occupant and two-person rooms. All of the rooms in the shacks have in-suite bathrooms. Off base residence You have a...

    Armoured Soldier Open/Closed

http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/69507/post-657896.html#msg657896 This was posted in 2008, but very little has changed in the three years between then and my DP1 course last year. You won't get a better explanation than that. Cheers!

    Armoured Soldier Open/Closed

Pretty much all questions that can be answered by a recruiter for the interested party, and yet even then are difficult to answer with pinpoint accuracy. Even the lowly trooper can tell you regiments in the Corps. are bursting at the seams right now in terms of numbers. Our transport troop is...

NEO's- looking for reviews and feedback

Why the hell not one more Gagetown boost? WELL worth the money, I spent 7 weeks in the Gagetown training area from October-December as an enemy force GD, and can say my mood would have been a tad sour had I not had my NEOs in the rainy autumn we had there. Great piece of kit, if you're in the...

Valid Civilian Drivers License Required for Armoured Reconnaisance?

Some good points made above that I forgot to include in my reply. You need a full class 5 (here in Alberta at least) civilian driver's license, or to pass a supp. exam, in order to drive any of the blue/civvy pattern DND vehicles (A1B1 on the 404's)

Valid Civilian Drivers License Required for Armoured Reconnaisance?

A valid civilian driver's license or lack thereof has absolutely no bearing on your eligibility to get your 404/Military Driver's license (That is, assuming you don't have any serious legal barriers preventing you from getting a civvy license, say a DUI for example). Any driving experience you...

I have heard many a tale about RCD hill here, but alas I'm off to Edmonton.

Intelligence Operator in the Armoured Corps

That is assuming you're a strathcona. I received the same answers from the DS that some career manager just has to put those in to fill slots. Sounds about right in army logic.
