just finished my sq course and we were told that its being canceled as well. So basic is to be expanded which probably will be 1 week for c9, 1 week for c6, 1 week of offensive/defensive operations theory, 1 extra week in the field for c9/c6 range, section attacks, and maybe a little trench digging.

I forgot to sign a line on my medical, but was told don't worry they don't need it. couple weeks later i get a call saying they need me to drive to Toronto to sign my med before they can do anything with my file.

you need a bag to carry somethings to basic with you... its not a life or death situation, goto wallmart and buy a duffel bag. you'll get 2 kit bags to carry your military kit in once you get there.

the hair above the beret line is yours to do whatever you want with, but some course staff will make everyone have the same haircut. you can't bic your head unless you have a medical reason to do so.

depends on what trade you are. you will be sent to where your next training will be done. When you get there if you have to wait for your course you go on pat.  If you have like a 3 month wait then you can ask to be sent to a base closer to home to do OJT (on job training) if your trade has a...

I've heard 12 weeks, they ran a test course when i was in bmq. Its 2 extra weeks of ambush training, 1 week classroom, 1 week in the field I think.  Not sure when it starts tho.

haircuts are $8.50 now :) and the longest u can get is a 2. some staff let you grow the hair on top, some don't. my course had to get all 1s

I'm on the course right now, and the no push-ups and no foul-language comment is way off. we do push-ups in the hallways, we do pushups at the drill hall, we do pushups outside. The instructors say whatever they want. They only rule i hear them talk about is not being able to personally insult 1...

but sgt. doing pushups would put the 3rd ranks hands in the mud... Your in the army, wtf did you think we do? bake pies!

oh ya! and she is involved in the shampoo, shaving cream in the pocket story, and a lot of other funny inspection stories...

on like the 4th or 5th day you get to goto the canex, then after that u can usually get 1 guy to go for the platoon about 3 or 4 times a week.

1 guy on my course didn't bring anything, and i think it cost him about $140 to buy all the items needed.

the picture frame is part of the layout for inspection, the ppl on my course that didn't have 1 had to go buy one, then find a picture to put in it. everything you need can be gotten at the base, they give you a $220 pay advance. my advice is don't waste money on towels, the give you them for...

all the personal stuff u want on you has to fit into a shoe box, so u can't keep anything big. there is also a guitar u can sign out from the green desk.

i don't think theres 1 starting right before Christmas. Theres a 2 week break for Christmas so starting 1 and then after a week stopping it for 2 weeks just doesn't sound right. And when i got my call i was offered January 11th as the next open spot, but then he said there were a few spots open...

when u get sworn in its a formal ceremony, and a good time to wear a suit. your family will be there and can take pictures so its good to look nice, so its not a bad thing to buy a suit if u don't have one, or borrow one from ur dad.
