28 Oct 06: Day of Protest Against the CF (& Canadian war crimes against an occupied people)

What a gem of a site. They're opposed to Mohmmed cartooons, too. The fact is, unless you're going to stnd up and fight for what you belive in, either way, you're not really standing up for anythign. These guys just seem to want to keep their heads down and not offend anyone for their stay on...

    Offr-NCO-NCM Relationships

I was talking to a Major in my psych about doing OJT as a rifleman in one of the infantry battalions for an OJT. Personally, I really hope that I get my B/B/B rating, because I think that would teach me far more than going through old accounts and manuals. Knowing the way some of us are here...

    Offr-NCO-NCM Relationships

It's not that Ocdts are taught to be haughty...some of us are just pricks, plain and simple. For this I apologize....in my (very short) time in the army, I've seen some very humble yet confident Ocdts who seem to learn fast, and I've also heard Ocdts be cocky bastards who often lecture the restĀ ...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

That's an unfair statement. To do well in arts, it requires a lot of time and effort.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Don't you think it would be equally important to talk to both groups? Given that a relatively small number of fourth-years actually run FYOP and all first-years have gone through it recently, I'd like to think we definately have a contribution to make.

Then again, first-years have very recent experinces with newer versions of IAP, FYOP and the recruiting process.

    Cadpat Overboard?

I'm sure I saw a soldier wering a CADPAT(AR) vest in a recent issue of The Maple Leaf

    Civvy Supply Techs

Wow, it's almost like some mil supply techs are hard to work with, and some civilians... I fail to see where the split is along the mil/civ lines. It has more to do with the people themselves...some people, either civvie or military just live to be dicks. Given that the forces are straining...

    Civilians at RMC

It appears that I've been misinterpreted. Opinions expressed in this thread have come from a variety of people - including non-cadets. I am by no means a ring-knocker. Civvie U people are no better or worse, NCMs will always be the backbone of the army, and senority/experience will always take...

    Civilians at RMC

My apologies for my quick typing. While we're being nasty, though, "doublethink" is term from 1984. Perhaps during the course of the studies you had to get your university degree, you should have gained enough knowledge of modern literature to recognize such a term. Perhaps you, of all people...

    Civilians at RMC

I must say - I've heard some good arguments, and the description of how these regs work has definately given me a new perspective. My sticking point is really the doublethink employed by the people in charge: Killing RMC tradtions (as to make RMC more integrated with the CF), yet taking some of...

    Civilians at RMC

Isn't the whole idea of RMC to train officers, though? I have no problems with Master's students, as RMC posses certain...unique traits that make it really one of the only venues for doing a Master's in War Studies, and, more importantly, it contributed to the goals of national defence and...

    Civilians at RMC

What do you think of civilians at RMC? Personally, as much of a part of the "defence team" as civilians are, I don't think they have a place at RMC. Why? When the CF employs civilians, such as PSP, It's usually a cheaper, more effiencent and generally producitve role they are put into...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Whoa, don't turn this into a class-warfare "officer cadets are sucky cocky bastards" thing. I think what's trying to be said here is that RMCtends to be very exclusive and self-contained: we have our own uniforms, our own customs, our own rank system and our own curriculum. Good thing? bad...

Would you go to RMC. RRMC, or CMR

I think I'd stay at RMC to go through all the rites of passage. Then again, I'm a genrally keen first-uear who stillĀ  has a spirit and optimism to break.

    Cadpat Overboard?

I was thkning of something like a cam system - some sort of paint, that didn't run out so quickly leave a load of dirty, bulky useless tubes around to carry.

    Cadpat Overboard?

Listen buddy, I'm sorry to say this, but you are a new kid. As for the cam paint issue, I still see it as a part of our equipment in the near future, as, ultimately, we are expected to defend Canada. Canada is largely woods (south of the treeline, anyhow). No matter how urbanized we are...
