Doubtful there will be much of anything new. The Republicans have powers in the House by virtue of their majority that they do not have in the Senate.

Your opinion doesn't count in the real world of knock down drag out politics, which this will be. They don't have to stick to the subject at the trial, they can go off script so to speak.

I don't think that he has ever made any bones about that first and foremost he's a comedian and satirist . . . a very smart and insightful comedian/satirist.
He hasn't but I am aware of a number of people that drew their information and opinions from him.

Some folks, including me, enjoy his approach to confirming my biases. We even enjoy his scathing attacks on the things we love. He does it that well. His comments about Biden were all on the mark.
Others have no sense of humour when their golden idols are attacked (or should that be Orange idols
).

The point isn't to get a conviction. The point is to keep the matter in the news and get a bunch of people on record with how they stand on the matter of better border enforcement. Also, the Senate has to pretty much suspend other business while a trial is in progress. A majority vote is enough to proceed to final vote, so I suppose it's possible to shorten the process if they are willing to accept the political risk of taking a short-cut.

Only on border matters, which are already mostly out in public. What's coming out of the hearings into Biden Inc is much more damaging - the line of defence has pretty much been completely pushed back to "Hunter duped people into paying for access to Joe" now, and polls suggest most Americans don't believe Joe was an unwitting figurehead.
Then of course there's still Hur's report. Biden's mental acuity isn't going to improve in the next 9 months, and it's infeasible to run another "basement campaign" or resort to calling a "lid" almost every day. Biden will have to campaign publicly, and it will be close to impossible to run it like a stage play. Biden will have to take open questions, and will have to give extemporaneous responses.

It'll be interesting to read Biden's deposition to Hur and watch the video. Should be out in a couple or three weeks.
