I think rather, that is the problem with the world, it is dangerous and unreceptive to the open minded. I can't fault the young for being open minded and thinking well of the world, although they do need to be prevented from getting into situations like this.
I agree that there should be vigilance inside the Muslim communities and extremist clerics that lecture that the murder of non believers is justified need to be routed out. But I don't think that Muslim communities across Canada should be burdened with having to prove that they don't endorse...
I'm going to have to disagree with those saying that they won't recieve proper punishment. If convicted under the anti-terrorism act these guys are facing some major sentences.

It looks like entrapment vs. sting operation with the (fake) ammonium nitrate is going to be their main defense and probably the big public debate. Although these guys have been under surveillance for 2 years so I'm sure there is a mountain of evidence against them and I don't doubt the RCMP's...
It depresses me to hear about people my age doing stuff like this while I sit here learning about math and economics. This goddamn education better be worth it.

Just remember that a large dose of reality (in the form of student loans) is waiting for these kids as soon as they get their precious political science degree. And they really are kids, I wouldn't worry too much about anything they say.
I'm a student at UBC and the vast retardness of many of the people around helps me keep my head down and study. I like how people think a university education is their right, I'm incredibly lucky to be here and I'm not going to waste my chance by bothering with these wonderful student advocacy...
