    A Deeply Fractured US

A trial or trial outcome has an in-state appeal path in NY that is not much different than Ontario’s processes. This is very tricky and requires some deft legal stick handling, but in some limited circumstances leave to appeal the decision of a motion that is ancillary to the main litigation...

    2024 Wildfire Season

Yes, but forest management to prevent wild fires is an excellent year round job. It's just that government doesn't want to spend money doing it, and private industry stakeholders are not incentivized to perform the work on their own timber stands. There are many places where, for the next...

    2024 Wildfire Season

June 2021 about < 1KM from our farm. He made 4 passes in 2 trips, boxed in the fire on 4 sides, then choppers hit it for about an hour, and next local crews from the lumber mill and volunteer fire department and put it out with water and Cat dozers.

    2024 Wildfire Season

I’d rather see 10,000 civilian forestry workers assigned to forest management duties through private contracts between commercial logging operations. But we don’t have 10,000 spare civilian forestry workers, because blue collar forestry = bad and it’s very hard work requiring fit men and women...

    2024 Wildfire Season

The bigger jet aircraft seem to fly out of Kamloops. The only jet powered ones I’ve ever seen in the Okanagan are BAE 146 flown by a US company I think from Montana. For all the rain we’ve had, every creek, river, lake, reservoir, acquirer, pond and rain barrel are low to very low.

Installation of Tampon Dispensers in all Washrooms

That’s how you avoid being accused of wrongdoing in a military that has Commissars to superintend language and behaviours deemed anti social, against party ideology or perhaps just Canada pre-2015. It’s like a weird prison camp chapter from The Centurians after the surrender at Dien Bien Phu.

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023

They aren’t going to leave, and they will not leave if the power brokers who control them say they cannot. The IDF is doing a difficult job, perhaps not even very well right now (who knows) but gun barrels and smart bombs will not return very many hostages or put a peaceful end to it...

Installation of Tampon Dispensers in all Washrooms

Imagine living a country where a person who works for the government doesn’t understand there’s only one tax payer, who doesn’t get to choose which level of government misdelivers services with their tax money but the government employee can always pull a BS division of powers argument to...

Installation of Tampon Dispensers in all Washrooms

Imagine living in a country where government policy makers have a long term care home charge seniors $1.43 for a Tylenol, but then turn around and provide tampons for men (who absolutely do not menstruate) at no charge because the mullahs in the CHRC issued an order to accommodate a serial...

    UCAV in the Maritime Domain

Figured it’s time this subject has its own thread. There is a lot happening with UCAV in broad spectrum naval warfare, and it makes sense for our adversaries to lead because they generally do not have a traditional vested political and economic interest in large, heavy, expensive fleets. They...
